A Trip to Kerala and Tamilnadu
It is been a long time, I haven’t done any long trips. Last month i.e., January I went to trip to visit few places in Kerala and Tamilnadu.
We planned this trip long back in November last year with colleagues.
We started from Hyderabad around 9 PM and reached Coimbatore around 10:45. It is one and half hour flight Journey. We have Traveller arranged for us at the Airport. As soon as, we arrived Driver (Daniel) has received us.
We headed to Thrissur from Coimbatore and reached our stay around midnight 1 AM. Our plan is to reach Athirappilly Waterfalls, which is known as “Niagara of India” in early morning next day. From Thrissur, It is 1.5 hours Journey.
Waterfalls are located in near forest and road connectivity is very good and maintained. Water is clean and you go inside water and play near falls. If you lucky, you might see Animals on another side of the flow.
If you have to see the full view of waterfalls, there is 15 mins trekking. which is difficulty level moderate.
We are able to see only two falls. but you if you visit in September-November time, you might see full falls. We spent something around 2–3 hours near waterfalls and left to Munnar.
It nearly 3 hours Journey from waterfalls. It reaches Munnar before it gets dark because of ghat roads and forest area.
Few clicks of us at falls.
One the way to Munnar, you might see other waterfalls.
2.Munnar
It is one of the superb hill stations which I ever visited in western ghats. It is the town you find almost everything you wanted in the hill station. Don’t expect ACs in your guest rooms, because this place doesn’t require AC really.
Places to visit in Munnar:
- Top Station: It offers the paranomic view of western ghats and must visit a location in Munnar.
- Lakkam Waterfalls (on the way to Coimbatore)
- Tea gardens
- Kundala water dam
- Annamudi Peak
- Mattupally Dam
- Echo point
